We'll tak a cup o'Kindness yet for auld lang syne

A lovely day of three thirds - first third doing errands and ticking off lists, second third being in town and seeing Local Hero at the magnificent Filmhouse, third third at home in Portobello, enjoying the evening with a trip to the beach for the bells. This shot was taken on Princes Street, ahead of the 80,000 expected revellers tonight.

I like this wee van because it's Scottish - all artery-hardening, life-shortening Scottish cuisine at its finest, complete with mince and haggis. You won't find this anywhere else (I hope).

I love Hogmanay and the idea of a brand new, fresh, clean slate of a year to come. I've made some resolutions and I'm looking forward to 2014, a year of possibilities. I wish you all a wonderful New Year when it comes and please carry on blipping!
