Ixoreus naevius

The Varied Thrush. This is a neotropic thrush that quietly inhabits coniferous forests of the Pacific coast of North America. I don't see them very often so to have one hanging around the yard this week has been an unexpected pleasure. I'm always struck by the beautiful colors and patterns of their plumage.
