Bristol - Day 2
We woke up this morning in our "Gorge View" room, to find we had virtually no view at all of the Avon Gorge or the Clifton suspension bridge: the rain and mist was too heavy. However, as the morning went on, the sky cleared and, before leaving Bristol to return home, I took another few shots of Brunel's suspension bridge. I learned only today that the chains supporting the bridge were "second hand": they were recovered from Brunel's Hungerford footbridge in London when it was dismantled to make way for a new railway bridge into Charing Cross station.
In other news, Tesco were this afternoon clearing their shelves of Christmas goods and replacing them with Easter eggs! I despair!
I posted my 365th blip on 17th November this year. I posted my 365th consecutive daily blip on 28th November. Today's image is my 365th consecutive daily blip in one calendar year. It has been great fun. I can't pretend I have always found it easy, and I am not proud of some of the images I have posted. But it has made me carry a camera all the time and constantly look out for possible subjects. I shall keep on trying!
A very happy New Year to all my fellow blippers, and to other non-blipping friends and family who I know follow my journal. I wish you all health and happiness for 2014.
