The end of the Knight

This Great Blackbacked Gull (Larus marinus) may be making a subtle commentary on the British honours system... or maybe just having a rest.

Whatever you think of HMQ handing out titles at New Year (and I think it's a ludicrously antiquated system for the 21st century) I was glad to see the recognition for Anthony Gormley. Or Sir Ant, now, I suppose :/
The statue is a life-sized cast of his body, as made famous by ecodad+. ;)
He also made the Angel of the North, and has done several site-specific works where his bodycasts turn up on high ledges of buildings, much to the consternation of passersby. I like his style!
