You'll have to take my word for it.

This is the closest I've got to photographing this tiny red crested woodpecker.

I've been trying for about 5 winters to catch this little chap as he tries to munch on a frozen apple.

He is only 4 inches long and always eats the frozen apples in the middle of the tree.

I cannot enlarge the shot any more because of the grain but at least you get an idea of his size. The frozen apple is bigger than he is.
