Last of the Flanders poppies

My Flanders poppies were exceptionally beautiful this year, and really stood out against the lavender, white and blue agapanthus and the blue cornflowers.

I took a pic of the last poppy in flower - it had only the one petal - and thought it would be quite apt on the last day of the year. I also shot some agapanthus across the road, and then chatted to my friend J. As I walked back into the house, I noticed the last poppy petal on the ground. This is the blip, my last of 2013, but I hope not the last one ever.
