Peaking Panda

The Red Panda.
Neither red nor a panda, it is seriously cute though.


One of the advances that newer Sony cameras have that my old one didn't is the "focus peaking" feature. It is (sometimes) a very useful feature, particularly where the fine points of a subject are moving. Basically the viewfinder (or screen) will highlight the bits of a frame that are in focus with a red/yellow/white border. So in this shot I could see when his whiskers were in focus or if it was the branch I'd caught.
