Bruichladdich
This is my prized bottle of 'Redder Still' single malt Scotch whisky, distilled at Bruichladdich on the island of Islay. It's special to me because I participated in the vatting of the whiskies that went into the bottle. In 2007 I spent a week on Islay at the Bruichladdich Academy program, living on the distillery grounds and being allowed to participate in every stage of the production process, from mashing to distillation to filling the casks to vatting. Oh, and of course there was a wee bit of tasting that occurred also ;)
It remains as one of the most memorable experiences in my life. One day when I open this bottle and enjoy it with good friends and family, I will be transported back to that week again.
