Way back in the day, long before I was born, the Temptations sang 'I wish it would rain'. No doubt they were thinking of the sun-baked sidewalks of Mississippi, when the only break from unremitting blue skies is the levee breaking, but here beneath the grey clouds of Britannia, you don't have to wish quite so hard....
