Rainbows after the rain

Well not really, but this was the effect the sun had on the lens. You can also see some recent raindrops on the left.

There was a ferocious wind this morning. Hubby had to put the rubbish out for collection and, when he opened the side door to go to the garage, an empty plastic bottle flew out and crashed against the garage door! He said he can't remember being out in winds that strong before. The winds slowly died down after the sun came out about midday. We're in for another lot tonight and then another lot again on New Year's Day, which is a blessed nuisance because I wanted to go over to Dad's for tea. I may be able to go over on Thursday instead though. I certainly won't take risks and travel when I don't absolutely have to in that sort of weather.
