Water water everywhere

We're back monitoring river levels daily and taking walks around the neighbourhood to check out the floodwaters. Kate and I took the same walk that I did yesterday, catching up on each other's Christmasses. Her relaxing walking break in Cornwall sounded lovely, marred by finding on her return home that someone had stolen the presents from under her tree. Not the spirit of Christmas.

As we returned the late afternoon sun illuminated these trees beautifully, and the flooded stream beneath them which had spilled out across the fields.

I was clearing my head after a lovely evening with Bundle and other friends trying out the candied clementines atop my white chocolate cheesecake which worked wonderfully with a scattering of pomegranate seeds and edible gold stars. Great company, possibly a little bit too much wine.
