Off road!

I was brave today and took my ankle and the dog went a short distance off the road and towards the Clarion. It rained hard last night so the burns are all very high. I was almost tortured looking at how milky the Milky Burn is, thinking of my nice tripod sitting in the house, and how much I'd love to go up to the waterfall (fairly low water or higher water, but neither close to what we had today) and above that too, where there is a stunning cascade and get far more dramatic shots. Sadly I am too sensible (or perhaps simply pain averse?) to consider that as dodgy ankles don't mix well with hills, bog and heather, so I settled for this shot of the wee Burn just before the Clarion, which I've blipped on several occasions before. I had to put in the shot of Ranza, which while blurry shows her joy at getting out of the evil water (about 3 metres downstream of the other shot, but in a shallow area where you ford the burn) without being swept away or drowned. I can assure you there was no danger of either, she just doesn't like clean water and considers any time spent in clean water to be a waste of time - all those times she could have been in mud, which is much more to her taste!

More sad news from Volgograd, it's just horrible.
