Our first full day at the holiday house near Recanati: a converted farm building, it's basically one big open plan room.

I remember that although we'd asked for a cot for Matt, he'd had a sofabed to sleep on. This lasted until he fell off it in the middle of the night, making a sickening thump on the hard tiled floor.
