The Delph Woods
A complete contrast to yesterday's gale force winds this morning, gorgeous blue skies tempered with a chilly reminder that Autumn's definitely here.
After clearing away the usual empty bottles from our Saturday night's drinkathon, I headed out to the woods at the back of the estate. It's great to have this at the end of the street - a nice place to wander, especially on a sunny Sunday morning. Still feel a bit guilty about these woods as the estate we moved into ate into a large part of the much bigger woodland, and I know a lot of the locals weren't all that happy about all the houses eating into one of the few little natural oasis that's left in our village. There's been a lot of replanting done through money all of the householders paid up front, but not sure how effective that is yet (that's a whole other can of worms altogether, will save it for another blip-day).
Never bumped into another soul either, which was unusual considering the number of houses around. Must've still all been tucked up cosy in bed listening to Steve Wright's Sunday Love Songs. Had my own soundtrack playing in through the headphones though - a nice bit of Swing Out Sister to chill out to. Not so much for the lyrics, but harmonica and xylophone plus sunny skies are suitably chill-axing. There's not enough xylophone and/or harmonica in today's music I've decided.
An afternoon doing a bit of unplanned shopping afterwards. Mrs Delphwynd decided to go shopping for a certain person's birthday present today, but took cold feet when she couldn't decide on a purchase. So, I ended going out, bought the present myself, and have handed it back to get all wrapped up. Still, it means I've managed to get exactly what it was I was looking for.
