West Linton Ford

Off on a bike ride down to the Borders todays. It's not too windy, only a slight breeze, so I'm making the most of it by taking the Moor road down to West Linton. Unfortunately I got a puncture after hitting a pothole, at which point it also decided to rain. Thankfully I am quite adept at replacing the inner tube.

This is the old ford at West Linton, still used by horse riders and brave mountain bikers. I have previously tried to use the ford on a mountain bike, but got stuck.

Today I am on a road bike, and the river is pretty full as it has been raining quite heavily recently, so I don't think any one will be crossing here today. Thank goodness for the footbridge.
