concussion

Zach suffered another Grade 1 concussion at tonight's game against Liberty.
I'm glad I was there and we actually left at the half and started for the ER but his symptoms cleared as we headed toward town. My concern is two concusions a week apart (he had very mild concussive symptoms after last week's game and had to forego referee-ing soccer). He won't like it when I tell him he can't play or practice for the next two weeks.

In a timely fashion a news article appeared in the Post this morning about dementia and early Alzheimer's in NFL footbal players due to repeated head trauma. The issue was also discussed this morning on National Public Radio.

On a lighter note work was better today and "the pen is truly mightier than the sword".
