Kauri craft

Day 29 December 2013 Challenge: Wooden

Both these wooden items are made from kauri wood, and are from New Zealand, though obtained on different visits.

The piece on the right was given to me, and is is in the shape of the triple twist which represents a bonding of friendship, two lives becoming one for all eternity. The one on the left is made from kauri that was recovered from buried logs, and is 45 000 years old.
