Final Sunset of 2013

This will be the final colorful sunset of 2013, if the forecasts hold true. Sunny and clear skies to close out the year.

Three inches short of our average rainfall, too (about 8" to our average 11"), keeping us in both our short- and long-term droughts. Most of the rain came in July and November.

We'll be entering 2014 in the low 70's (~22 C) with the sun shining and not a sprinkle in sight. I'll be continuing to water the cactus in the yard every week, since they are used to getting rain during the winter.

I've hated to have chores inside the house. All I want to do is sit outside in the sun, sip on a drink and watch Zippy when he comes around.

[Interesting factoid: when I moved here almost seven years ago, the average rainfall was ~12 inches. But due to the continuing drought, the average has fallen almost an inch.]
