Fluffy, Ruffly, Chest Feathers

I started out the day unable to even lift my camera... my back hurt from top to bottom and the pain shot down my arms. I almost went for an iPhone image, but then the drugs kicked in. :) It's still a bit painful, but I can function! (Just don't ask me to do any math...) With the help of my monopod and the window frame for support I managed to capture this beauty. I just love her delicate, puffed up plumage. It's amazing that she didn't fly away in a fit of panic as I cranked the window open. They are incredibly skittish birds.

We had sunshine and just above freezing temperatures today. It was WONDERFUL! It's supposed to drop about 25 degrees tomorrow and last for about five days. Yikes!
