Heading Home!
Driving home, along the northshore to get to Englishtown Ferry...the early evening light was so pink and purple and blue, reflecting in the calm waters....a fitting image for the way i felt....reflective, content - inspired and yet not agitated as some moments can be after an intensive experience.
I kinda set myself up yesterday, by telling all that i was heading off to a 'writer's workshop' today.....well, suffice to say, i won't be giving up my day job any time soon!!! I always had a suspicion that being a writer was of course a lot of toil and hard work....and having listened to the lives of the 3 writers over the course of a day and an evening...i wasn't even close to how hard it really is!
The workshops i attended where given by a famous Newfoundland writer, Donna Morrissey...she's a total bundle of passion, life and humour....all of which i believe is necessary to take on the life of a writer. she was funny, inspiring, humble and honest....and i completely and utterly enjoyed my few moments of pretending i want to be a writer - of sorts!! it's pushed me towards more exploration of the vast and complex world of communicating emotions, ellusive thoughts and how to hold your reader in an intriguing way.....so much fun - when you have no intention of trying to write anything more than journal entries and perhaps, accompanying text for images.
All in all a very engaging day! Followed by a delicious supper with my love!
