Despite there being a range of shops within a mile which are all open well into child-to-bed time it's quite nice to pick one several more miles farther away to pop to for cereal and milks for the morning, even when the wind is pissing about by changing direction and when you pop three spokes three miles into the outward journey, resulting in decreased efficiency through brake-pad-rim rubbing. Despite having several extra unsuspended kilogrammes level with the rear axle on the way back there was no worsening on the way home and all the poppees were fortunately in-pokers on the non-driveside which could be replaced without having to bugger about with chainwhips, freehub lockring removal tools, kitchen tables and sheets of newspaper.
