This year's hit board game has been Andy's. Simple to play but also fiendishly involved, Carcassonne has got us hooked. Andy reckons these little wooden counters (known as Followers) look hand-painted, and with the slight imperfections, I can see what he means.

In the afternoon we all took Stella for a marshy/sandy/muddy walk in John Muir Country Park.
