Taken for granted

Until something goes wrong! News stories today of people without power over the Christmas holiday, and some flooded out as well. This caused me to reflect on the infrastructure which supports our lives. It is so incredibly complex and largely invisible to us. Not so these pylons marching in lines across the countryside carrying hissing and crackling high voltage lines.
