Too Close for Comfort

We had a lovely long walk today along Lancaster Canal, before which we strolled around the local garden centre and picked up a few post Christmas bargains!

As we went back to where we had parked the car, we noticed a gate which opened up onto an unmanned railway pedestrian crossing. Our timing was perfect, as the lights turned to red to indicate a passing train.

I must say, it's quite unnerving to see a train travelling at very high speed with just a little wooden gate to separate you, albeit pleasing when you manage to get a decent shot of it.
