Shag Rocks

The Shag Rocks lie 140 nautical miles WNW of the Willis Islands at the extreme western end of South Georgia and are the last remnants of land to be seen until we reach the Falklands. We passed them on our port side on this dully grey morning. I was sure I could smell the stench of seabird guano wafting by even though they were a few miles away. Seals and a single Southern Fulmar were accompanying us. Later in the day we saw two Fin Whales, identifiable by their asymmetric markings.
