(Another) new camera
Oops...
I woke up feeling pretty grungy this morning, so I stayed in bed for a while and enjoyed the fact that I didn't really have to get up. Dad and I decided to go and see the new Hobbit movie today, so after I'd finished the last of yesterday's pancakes we went off to the midday session. I enjoyed the film, but I think I liked the first one a bit better - although I loved the addition of Tauriel, the female elf, and I will always love Legolas, so actually I can't decide which I like better. The thing is that the film was almost three hours long, and I know half the stuff in the movie isn't in the book and I think maybe they're trying to make The Hobbit more like Lord of the Rings, when it's basically a kid's book. Anyway, it's a Boxing Day tradition to see a film and I did enjoy this one!
This afternoon I went to Mum's and we ended up mooching down a very quiet Brunswick Street. Mum was looking for a present for a friend who had a baby recently, and we ended up in Urban Attitude looking at the soft toys. When we went to pay for the little rabbit Mum bought, the shop assistant mentioned that everything in the shop was 20% off and I was immediately over by the cameras. I've wanted a Diana F for ages, and I've wanted an instant camera for ages and so I decided to take advantage of the sale and get the Diana with the instant back to get the benefit of both. So exciting! Afterwards Mum and I had a drink and talked about all sorts of things, including my exciting new purchase and all the exciting things that are (hopefully) going to happen next year.
Bit of a boring photo today, but I'm so excited about the new camera! It's a bit of an indulgence, but I got paid just before Christmas so I guess it's a late present to myself. I need film and batteries before I can try it out, but then I'm going to go nuts!
