Anastasia - Our one legged chook

Anastasia is one of our four feisty free range chooks who survived death by head pecking by her fellow egg layers. On the cusp of a gruesome canibalistic end we thought her time was up. We did our best to nurse her back to life. She miraculously pulled through. However, the ordeal left her paralysed, only able to hop on one leg. She now roosts on the back porch and loves her freedom. Anastasia decided to retire from egg laying and lives a care free life pecking at interesting stuff in the garden.
