The Anadi Principle was one I learned from an unusually intelligent School Inspector, who said he used it regularly when he became frustrated by the pedantic and tiresome deliberations of colleagues as they switthered over a school assessment. I did not meet many School Inspectors in my career and certainly few as wise as 'Mr Johnstone', as I seem to remember, he was called!
