Sun Worshippers

Today I decided to take advantage of what might be the only fully sunny day here all week and do a photo exercise that I've been putting off -- taking a shot of the same view every hour throughout the day, from before sunrise to after sunset. I chose the war memorial on the promenade, but soon regretted it on the basis of the distance -- I was getting back to the flat from one hourly shoot and barely getting a sit down before having to set off out again! The end results were photographically useful but not especially interesting to look at...

I also managed to rattle off another exercise that involved taking various pictures using different angles of the evening sun. So in all it was quite a good day for catching up on my photography studies.

This particular shot was just as the sun was going down, and I spotted a line of people admiring the glowing sunset. Such a contrast to the mad storm we had on Christmas Day.
