TWILIGHT ON WESTERN GHATS

I had climbed up to a spot to watch the sun set in the Arabian Sea on 25th December 2013. The settling mist nicely bordered the lower hills and with the twilight of the setting sun the view was breathtaking. The spot is Karikalam-15 km from Honavar in the Western Ghats in Karnataka, India. The Arabian Sea is seen along the horizon with a tiny rock island. The western ghats are one of the hottest biospheres in the world endemic to many plant & animal species. The photo was taken with a Canon G-15 compact camera.
