There are such horrifying stories coming out of Samoa after the tsunami. People tell of the terrifying dash to high ground, of the old and the very young who didn't make it. How awful to look on helplessly as children are sucked out to sea. Of having to search through debris for the bodies of loved ones. Some people lost 10 or more members of their family.

The devastation extended to American Samoa and Tonga. As well as this the earthquake in Sumatra has killed perhaps a thousand people. Such a lot of bad news from our corner of the world.
