Busy Rubbish Day

They say at this time of year it's all about the footfall numbers in retail stores but I think some of those stores would be delighted to receive the number of people that visit landfill sites at this time of year.

After two days of presents and the inevitable black bags full of cardboard, wrapping paper and left over food waste it's always handy to have a van parked outside the house to ease the pressure on the household bins but it means the van must be emptied before I need ladders and tools to carry out work.

So on the way into the office this morning after the Christmas break it meant a detour and a fight for a parking space at our local landfill site.

Van emptied it was into the office to shuffle some paperwork and organise our festive period electrician who was also back today after a couple of days off.

Then back home to find yet more black bags full of cardboard, paper and rubbish waiting for me to load into the van again.

I should have left a towel on my parking space for tomorrow morning.
