Wellington in the Rain

Our second day in Welly. After braving the supermarket for our Christmas Day supplies, we headed up to Weta Cave. This is where props and so on for movies including LOTR, Hobbit, TinTin, Narnia are made. Unfortunately the next available tour was not until 3pm so we bought our tickets then drove back in to Wellington and went to the Te Papa museum for a couple of hours. We returned to Weta Cave for our tour, which was very interesting. We once M&R headed back in to Wellington, wandered about for a bit to kill time before our ferry crossing to the South Island later that evening. We arrived at our campsite gone midnight after a drive in the pitch black from the port at Picton.
