One Cool Bird
We took a break and went down to the beach late this afternoon. As soon as we arrived, I saw this beautiful bird sitting on the edge of the jetty. I asked a bunch of people if they knew what this was. No one knew but a nice lady told me that it did not have the oils needed to get the water out of it's wings and it had to spread them out to air dry.
When I got back to the house, I googled "birds that have to dry wings Florida" and came up with an Anhinga (part of the Darter family) which is seen in the warmer parts of the Americas.
