Emergency kitchen lighting

Went to feed the felines at bedtime on Christmas Eve - with the wind and rain battering the windows yet again - and there was a great big bang as the ceiling lights went off. Somehow the rain was getting in under the roof and had found the bathroom ceiling extractor fan and as we all know, water and electricity is not a good mix!

Was pretty scary at the time but the relevant circuit is isolated and while we are having to cope with no ceiling lights downstairs, we are in a far better situation than other folk this Christmas.
