Boxing Day is when Canberrans by the thousand pack the car and head over the mountains for the coast to begin their summer holidays. The weather is hardly as atrocious as many of you are experiencing in the Northern Hemisphere - but it's dismally wet and not fit for frolicking in the surf. Happily, the forecast for the next few days is mostly sunny. Meanwhile, it is not raining in Melbourne, and we can watch our bowlers on TV as they make steady inroads into the English batting order in Australia's quest for a clean sweep in the Ashes series.
