Finally. Zero sleeps
I woke first. Eventually Jim got up toast breakfast, and I lay there till the nut flew out of his bed at the crack of 8 o clock. Even later than last year! My child is a weirdo. Then he went back into his room because he'd forgotten his 'socking'. He unloaded it on my bed, treasure after treasure, so many delights- until the soft thing at the toe of the stocking.
'Oh, I think need to check the other stocking downstairs' he says, holding a green angry pig. 'You need to look on your bed, I know what you are like' and he looked and found a VERY big present all wrapped up and it was a VERY big Han Solo bird, and the nut was VERY happy.
We actually got dressed before present opening. So many presents! Afterwards the nut asked me how I got them all. Finally someone appreciates the effort I put into Christmas. (I start buying them after the summer holidays when they are on sale). He was particularly pleased with a starwars fighter plane that turns into a little car, because it was not something he'd asked for. Because he didn't know such a thing existed. I was thanked and interrogated on where it came from a lot.
Then the Christmas pie, the culmination of many hours of work in the kitchen on the part of my Jim.
Then we had many hours of lego building (we took it in shifts, still, hours of building one police station, two police vehicles and two Spider-man vehicles) before lego Spider-Man foiled a robbery with the help of scooby doo and Ben ten. It was a lot more entertaining then the telly.
Then the annual stroll around the neighbourhood staring into the homes of others to spy on their Christmases. Weird, but it's Jim's favourite.
