Lily's Christmas
It's been a lovely family Christmas Day today, enjoyed by all but perhaps by no one more than Lily here.
Like any six year old awaiting Santa, last night was filled with palpable excitement, but today's opening of what can best be described as a motherlode of presents was an ecstatic affair.
Lily is Mrs H's cousin's daughter; we've had a housefull with three generations on that side if the family and the day went swimmingly. Whilst Miss L's brother is only 18 months old and not old enough to really get into the swing of things this year, it's amazing what difference having one young child in the house can make to the atmosphere. The sense of anticipation and glee is so heartwarming. What's more, she's been loving every minute of being here in the valley and out 'on the farm'. It really is lovely to have her here.
With our visitors all in their rooms and tents on the lawns, it's time to kick back and have a little bit of quiet time before some well earned rest.
I hope all you blippers out there have a wonderful day too, wherever in the world you are.
