What a great Christmas Eve

Julia managed to call us from Afghanistan using 'Face Time', really made our Christmas Eve and even more so when she called a few hours later after she'd come back in from a night patrol. It would have been after 0200 in Afghanistan when she called the second time.

We had some friends around in the evening, and I frightened the life out of Dhylan and Lennon when I told them it was 2305 and Santa Claus would be coming around before too long. That prompted them to feel more inclined to go home (it's just around the corner, almost) because I remember how tiring Christmas Day could be after sorting out the stockings, bags and bikes etc. after waiting for the children to go to sleep!
