Carnitas Zihua

Ever since we spent time in Patzcuaro last year we have been searching for good carnitas, the incredible slow roasted pork we came to love from nearby Quiroga. Last year when our kids visited they were squired around by our friend Carlos, who has since taken a job on a cruise ship, and he introduced them to Urapan Carnitas in the market. For lunch today, we all trooped down to this street side stand to see how they stacked up. While not exactly like those inland, the tacos consumed on site and the kilo of meat eaten later at dinner were very, very good. We have had another place recommended to us as well, so we will be taste testing those soon as well. This "creative" shot of the meat and those eating it didn't really turn out as well as I had hoped. I think it needed a smaller aperture with the subsequent larger depth of field. Perhaps I will capture that when we return, which we are certain to do.
