Last minute preparations

John arrived first thing this morning and we soon had the tree that had fallen onto the glasshouse cut down.John did the cutting and I did the tractor driving just managed to finish before it started to rain hard.
My Mum and Dad have driven down to Cambridgeshire to spend Christmas with my brother.A five hour drive which I think is a bit much for my dad at his age.
All the girls went shopping this afternoon and I spent my time pottering around the nursery preparing for the storm which is forecast for Friday.
Fairly windy with some heavy showers and feeling cold today.Bill called in today with some pictures of his first grandchild,it was nice to see him.Bill worked for us for years,retired and then came back part time two weeks later eventually finishing when he turned 70.He still keeps in touch with us all on the nursery.
