The real reason...

Well it's almost Christmas Day and the preparations have been done, parcels finally wrapped this afternoon and deliveries to some folks made. Hubby and I are looking forward to a relaxing evening as we are at our son & his family tomorrow. I was aware as I wrapped my parcels today that we get so caught up in the gifts and food we buy that we forget who is really at the centre of these celebrations. God sent his son Jesus to be born in a smelly stable surrounded by animal smells and just hay for his bed. There was no trumpet sound and a cosy soft mattress. He came to give us the greatest gift we could ever receive - He came to free us from our sins on the cross and if we accept that and ask him to be Lord in our lives and follow his teachings we will go one day to heaven to meet him. Sorry if this sounds heavy but it means so much to me. I pray that you will all have a wonderful Christmas and a really great 2014. God bless!!
