This wasn't supposed to happen!

We have had an interesting day today.

Woke to find more of the wall and fence demolished due to the gales last night. I took advantage and nipped over into the garden next door, just to check for small critters. Apparently I am not to do that again!

We have been lucky though. Many houses have got flooded and many will have trouble cooking their Christmas lunch as they have no power.

We had to go into Dorking and as the main road is closed due to flooding and storm damage we took the Land Rover and went along the country lanes - very exciting as many trees across the road and difficult passing other cars on the road doing the same.

Had a great walk though and saw how the River Mole has burst its banks. A lot of cottages flooded - so sad it has happened so close to Christmas!
