Burnt offerings

It's been a day of cleaning, packing, travelling and visiting.

Hubby and I are currently at mother's .... she's busy cremating something for our evening meal and I don't mean to sound ungrateful but I'm hoping that the apple in the picture will not be featuring in the dessert!

Sadly, she's been tearful for most of the day. My son spent three hours this afternoon with her keeping her spirits up. It's her first Christmas without her beloved sister who is constantly in all our thoughts.

Looking forward to a huge family meal tomorrow with family, extended family and my ex-husband.
