Just Looking

NooOO! Not out of the window! You were only showered for Christmas Day this morning! Tilly here, looking at the flood water out of the car window as the sun went down this evening, wasn't going anywhere if I could help it!

Torrential rain last night here! On going to bed last night at 1 o'clock was up again 3 minutes later as there was a massive rumpus going on outside with blue (worrying), red and yellow flashing lights right outside the window. 2 huge fire-engines were in the lane having been called out to next door with water powering through their house at a rate of knots! We have pumps and thankfully were fine so donned our wellies to see what we could do. Hubs didn't get to bed till nearly 5:00 this morning, whereas I was a bit superfluous to requirements with 12 burly firemen helping out too. Having said that, their equipment didn't work so it was lucky we had seen events unfold.

What a terrible thing to happen at any time but, over Christmas, really hideous!

The abbey and the fields surrounding Tewkesbury are now all surrounded by rising water with the River Severn getting higher by the hour. At least it's stopped raining.
