It was the night before Christmas

We've treated ourselves this Christmas by staying in a 5* hotel for 3 nights in hanoi. The hotel is very nice but we're clearly the poorest people staying here as we got dropped off in a shared mini bus from the airport (in which a woman was sick in a bag) and all the cars in the car park are sports cars and the like!

To help our finances though we've had to scrimp tonight and go to a local shop for bread, cheese and beer. More fool those in the restaurant paying 50 quid ahead...that'll be us tomorrow!!
