High Point

Only two sleeps until the big fellah commits mass breaking and entering and I still hadn't done my Christmas shopping. Thankfully Highpoint shopping centre is open for 36 hours straight, so I came home from work, had a play with Miles, had dinner with Gina, Faye and Lewis, did a bit of prep for Christmas dinner and set off for the shops at 9pm.

I had a plan, and I was going to be in and out.

Apparently half of Melbourne had the same plan. Luckily, I'm a crafty so-and-so, and once I managed to break free of the traffic jam to get into the car park and had driven around a couple of times, it became obvious that I wasn't going to just happen upon a free parking space.

It was time to take matters into my own hands.

I waited by the main exit for an unsuspecting couple and skulked behind them back to their car as they kept turning around nervously to stare straight back into my headlights. Arriving back at their car, they made a hasty retreat. I was in, and it was only 20 minutes after I'd left home. It pays to be adaptable in the implementation of the plan! A victory photo of the dramatic sky over the car park was my celebration to myself.

The rest was just as I'd planned it, and here I am, all shopping successfully done (the right items for the right price), and it's only just gone 11pm. What a relief!

I love it when a plan comes together.
