Safe and Sound

New life has sprung up all over the place in the valley this week; not only are the flax blooming but there's a couple of chickens in our flock that have hatched a clutch or two.

This one is one of seven (we have another white chicken with three little white fluffy chicks) that is currently shadowing her doting mother. As most of the brood huddled under mum, this one stuck it's head out from under the wing for an impromptu portrait.

Just. So. Cute.
