Red Tarns

The Red Tarns Track winds high above Mt Cook Village. From the top there is a magnificent mountain view, including Aoraki Mt Cook (reflected in the tarn) and The Footstool (on the left).


The tarns gain their name from the red pond weed that grows in them.
