A Suffolk Eye

Goldilocks

This mournful ox was curled up in the water meadows today. He was making the most of full sunshine and hoping that springtime was round the corner.

Fat chance, my gloomy friend. Today is the solstice. We have a whole quarter of the year to go before it is spring.

I was very taken with the way he was lying all cuddled up- like a cat or a dog or a hamster, only bigger. I was also very taken by his wonderful waving golden locks and by his capacity to camouflage himself among the golden ferns and winter foliage.
